Our 5th Desination


IceCube Experiment/Lab


      We just finished video conferencing with Mr. Jim. We had connected with the South Pole, with Ms. Catherine and Mr. Benjamin. 

Life in the South Pole: The Station

-The station is 9300 ft asl
-Ice moves 33 ft per year
-65000 square feet
-42 people are currently living there 
-450.000 gallons of fuel used per year

      Ms. Catherine said her favorite subject in middle school was Biology. Mr. Benjamin said his favorite subject in Middle School was Physics.


      A student asked what they eat most of the time. They said today they ate meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and vegetables.


      Students Sarah and Ava (6th graders) interview and ask questions to Ms. Catherine as well as Mr. Benjamin.

First neutrino source discovered:
-First astrophysical neutrinos detected in 2013
