Waterford, Ireland

It's 4:00 AM and we are still going strong.  Right now we are talking with a class in Waterford, Ireland. We are exchanging information about our daily lives and culture. We are learning about their:

  • favorite sports (accent made the names unrecognizable)
  • history (origin/meaning of the flag, stories of colonization)
  • national day (St. Patrick's Day)
  • differences in food (they call french fries - crisps, they have a unique little bread roll with meat inside that you cant find anywhere else)
  • government head (we have presidents, they have kings/other rulers)
  • School (they are in 5th grade, and they have no girls in their school, although there are some co-ed and girls only schools)
