Naomi's Village

It's time to go to Kenya and visit Naomi's Village! Naomi's Village is a orphanage that is also a public school open to the kids that live near by. Today we are Skyping with a class from the village made up of boys and girls. Some of their favorite subjects are math, social studies and reading. Some of their favorite food is te poti or tortilla. The kids were really interested in what we were doing and surprised that we were still awake! Their school starts with kindergarten and goes all the way to 8th grade. At lunch they eat rice with a mixture of beans. Some of the other questions they asked included they wanted to know what state we were in, how long our world tour was, and how it worked. They wear uniforms and if they are in scouts they wear another one every Monday or Friday. As a scout, they have  more responsibilities. One thing we learned was the different and the holidays we both celebrate. Many of the kids really liked the idea of Halloween (Can't blame them, it's free candy!)
