Smithsonian Museum of Natural History

Today at 4 p.m. CST we are speaking with the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.   We are talking with Maggy, and her favorite part about working at the museum is... seeing all the amazing objects. She works in the education department and manages live science. Also, she loves that she works with scientists to make discoveries. She studied biology and marine science in college and she taught elementary, middle, and high school students about Marine biology. Her dream job is to be a teacher. In the room with her she has birds, anthropology, animals, etc. All of the items that she showed us, she also taught us about. They have a lot of objects because they like to compare and contrast them. The museum also has a large collection of shells, rocks, and crystals. Some things to know about the museum are... it's free entry and they get their money from the US congress. The museum has Smithsonian sleepovers for kids. Every Friday the museum's scientists get together to eat and have fun.
She is now taking us into the museum.
 This is the Ocean Hall

Below is the Great North American whale
Above is a squid that washed up shore. (She thinks this is the most interesting creature)

The next few are in her office.
They have a HUGE collection of fossils.
This is a bird that has no body, just the feathers and head.
This is Maggy from the museum.
